A digital journal to aid in healing and recovery from a relationship with a psychopath.
In response to message posted by Hermes:
My heart goes out to you in your recovery. Grieving the loss of a relationship with a N has many layers. They are not the usual layers of grieving a healthy person. The problem is that some of the layers ARE the same as grieving a healthy person but then there are layers reserved only for the loss of a N relationship, which are not understood by the 'civilian' population and can ONLY be understood by those who have survived a significant relationship with a N.
In a healthy relationship break-up one grieves:
Those are typical feelings that can come up after a break-up of a healthy relationship.
But grieving a N there are other ingredients, not available to the public understanding, such as:
Grieving a N is a burden, it's a hole in one's life.

This video was heart wrenching to watch I had to fight back tears. I was thinking back to my abuse at the hands of my ex husband finding it interesting that we are connected in many ways with these troops. For one thing the initial indoctrination is similar meaning when a new military member is in boot camp they are broken down and rebuilt up to do as the military wants them to do/be just like a sociopath/narcissist does by constantly imposing new rules. The daily fear of a solider and the fear of our abusers. The phobias they inflicted.
ReplyDeleteLaura I know you have provided adrenal gland fatigue info but I would like to share a few things I have learned during my healing process. I went to a hormonal specialist doctor who took a cortisol saliva test to check my levels. Mine were off the chart just having left my abusive husband. He also check my female hormones and found that my progesterone level was lower and my estrogen higher causing more anxiety. Our progesterone is our bodies natural "mellow" hormone when it is low we become more anxious. Our adrenal regulate 50 hormones, blood sugar, blood pressure, cortisol, adrenaline etc.
My doctor gave me Dr Wilson's super adrenal stress formula vitamins (6 per day) and Adrenal Rebuilder (6 per day). What I have found is the first one is basically b complex. Just after 4 days my anxiety was half. Dr Wilson has a website and also a book called Adrenal Fatigue the 21st century stress syndrome.
In addition on his web he as a symptoms check list you can go through, info on the cortisol saliva test, etc. His vitamins were pricy but for me well worth the money. I also suggest people google: cushing disease and addison disease to check symptoms. When JFK returned from war he suffered "ptsd" and as a result ended up with Addison's disease which pledged him for the rest of his life.
google also: vitamin deficiency and anxiety. Vitamin B complex, D and C need to be taken in large amounts.
I believe these are all factors in our recovery as well as our troops.
